FAQs

Have questions about therapy, coaching, or what to expect from our work together? We've compiled some of the most common questions to help you feel more informed and confident as you begin your journey.

  • Coaching helps clients:

    • Understand how their beliefs impacted their identity

    • Explore & receive education on impact of spiritual/cult abuse in your life

    • Reclaim spiritual agency and boundaries

    • Explore and redefine spirituality (or let go of it)

    • Identify meaning-making and personal growth

    Therapy helps clients:

    • Treat & diagnose disorders based on symptoms

    • Uses clinical modalities (like EMDR, exposure, etc)

    • Navigates and treats symptoms of complex trauma, panic, anxiety, dissociation, etc.

    • Space for emotional processing

  • Goal: Supporting growth, clarity, and personal empowerment

    • Clients who are emotionally stable and seeking clarity, growth, or deconstruction

    • Individuals feeling “stuck” in rigid religious mindsets but not in crisis

    • People seeking to rebuild life after leaving a high-control group or toxic faith tradition

    • Clients ready to explore what they believe now, not process clinical trauma

    Coaching focuses on:

    • Exploring beliefs, identity, and values

    • Reclaiming your voice after rigid or harmful religion

    • Clarifying your spiritual (or non-spiritual) path
Creating goals, boundaries, and a life aligned with your truth
Building confidence and reconnecting with your authentic self

Coaching might be right for you if you:

    • Are feeling stuck, lost, or spiritually confused

    • Want to untangle beliefs from fear or shame

    • Are deconstructing from religion but aren’t in a mental health crisis

    • Crave direction, growth, and a safe place to ask big questions

    • Want tools and support to move forward

  • Goal: Healing mental health challenges and trauma

Therapists are trained and licensed professionals who can treat:

    • PTSD, Anxiety, depression, or panic attacks, for example

    • Complex trauma from relational abuse

    • Family of origin wounds

    • Grief, dissociation, or emotional dysregulation

Therapy might be right for you if you:

    • Feel emotionally overwhelmed, numb, or unsafe

    • Are dealing with past abuse from a religious figure or community

    • Experience panic, nightmares, flashbacks, or depression

    • Need support with mental health diagnoses

    • Are in crisis or struggling to function day-to-day

  • You don’t have to choose one or the other. Many people benefit from both at different times. If deeper healing is needed, a coach may refer you to a therapist. If you’re ready to move forward and rediscover your voice, a coach can guide that process.

  • Let’s talk about where you are and what kind of support would serve you best. Coaching is always trauma-informed, but not trauma-treating.
